Since becoming a mom or two under two, I finally get it. I understand why parents, especially moms, struggle with work-life balance. Work-life balance for moms is a beast of a topic, but I want to share a few things that have helped me stay grounded since giving birth to my second son. I’m still learning as I go; I’m definitely not perfect, but I try to be the best mom and entrepreneur I can be. This is how to balance work and family as a mom.
These tips have been a game changer for me and my family. I hope this episode on how to balance work and family as a mom has given you a different perspective. I’m not trying to come across like I have it all together (I definitely don’t.) We’re all just doing our best and I wanted to share some things that have worked well for me, hoping they will help you too.

If your kids are anything like mine, they are snacking MACHINES. They constantly want something to eat, and if they had it their way, it would be candy.

But as parents, we want to give our kids healthy snacks. This is especially important for kids with ADHD. Nutrition can greatly affect how our brains function. Snacks with high sugar and trans fats slow down our ability to focus and function.

So, I want to share some healthy snacks for kids with ADHD that they can take to school. Quick, healthy snacks aren’t hard to give your kids! And they will help them stay focused throughout the school day and when they come home to do homework.

I talk more about healthy snacks you can make ahead of time in my meal prep guide. You can download it here. I hope this episode gave you some good ideas for snacks for kids with ADHD.

I love meal prepping! Since implementing it into my weekly routine, I’ve avoided waiting too long to figure out dinner for my family, forgetting to eat, and impulse eating out because we don’t have food at the house or we're too lazy to cook.

Can you relate?

Then this episode is for you! I’m going to share how to create a meal plan for ADHD adults, so you don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner again!

I explain all of this in more detail in my meal-prepping guide!

I’ve personally struggled with this topic but I’m so excited to share what I’ve learned. Setting and enforcing boundaries is difficult for anyone; it’s a skill set that takes time but once you master it, it opens so many doors for you.

Boundaries are especially important for those with ADHD. ADHD causes your brain to go into overdrive so it’s easy to overthink and get anxious in certain situations. Boundaries can help people with ADHD remain calm and stable in uncomfortable situations. Let’s dive into how to set boundaries with ADHD.

ADHD kids thrive off structure and routines. I’ve talked about this in many episodes. Routines help kids with ADHD focus and meet expectations because they know what their day looks like already.
Today, I want to talk about one thing you can add to your child’s daily routine and that is a chore chart for ADHD kids. It gives them something to work towards and complete to feel that sense of accomplishment.

I actually wish I had chores when I was younger! Instead of studying all the time, it would have given me a break and something else to learn. Chores aren’t to punish your kids but to help them learn life skills. This episode covers how to create a chore chart for ADHD kids.

A lot of parents I work with have shared that they don’t have ADHD and don’t understand it. They ask, “Why can’t my child just do their homework?” I totally get it. If you don’t have the same ADHD brain as your child, it’s hard to understand how they work. As a person and mom with ADHD, I’m happy to share some tips I’ve learned through my experiences to help you thrive as a parent raising a child with ADHD.

I have a love-hate relationship with social media. I love connecting with my audience and sharing my life in hopes of inspiring and helping other people with parenting and ADHD. But… I hate that I often compare myself to influencers who have a seemingly perfect life. I never want to show up on social media with a highlight reel. You get my good, bad, and ugly.

I’ve been unplugging from social media more often lately for my mental health. After baby #2, I decided I needed to be present for my child, and I unplugged for about three weeks. It was so great to spend undistracted time with my new baby and my 2-year-old. I didn’t feel the pressure I often do to post something on Instagram and it was amazing.

After listening to this episode, I hope you feel inspired to take some time off social media. It has so many benefits to your mental health and can help reduce ADHD symptoms.

According to Medical News Today, impulsivity is a core ADHD symptom. It can appear in a variety of ways, such as talking out of turn, reckless spending, and risk taking behaviors. ADHD impulsivity can be very dangerous if not under control.

This is something I often talk to parents and kids with ADHD about. I want to help them mitigate these issues. I deal with ADHD impulsivity daily but I’ve learned to control it. In this episode, I share some of the things that have helped me mitigate ADHD impulsive behaviors.
